A commercial building inspection will generally take a qualified building inspector 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the size of the property. The building inspector will conduct a visual inspection of the commercial property against the Australian Standards AS4349.0.

The building inspection will assess the following items:

  • The electrical work on the property;
  • All plumbing and drainage;
  • The conditions of the windows and doors;
  • Any fittings and fixtures within the commercial property;
  • All joinery (kitchen cabinetry, cupboards etc);
  • Walls;
  • Underfloor space;
  • The roof and roof space;
  • Driveways;
  • Car Parks;
  • Retaining walls;
  • Outbuildings (sheds etc);
  • Guttering and downpipes.

A commercial building inspection is often combined with a pest inspection.

A commercial building inspection can also include a visual inspection of Council Assets adjoining the commercial property.

The building inspection will not include estimates for the cost of repairing any problems that are found. Standard building inspections also do not report on minor problems (such as cosmetic issues) however if you require our qualified inspector to report on minor defects please advise our call centre consultants at the time of booking.
